About this section
It will come as no surprise to you to heat that there are a huge selection of coffee bars and bars in Munich.
We have decided to focus initially on the bars in the centre of town. Over the coming months we will extend these page to also cover Schwabing and other areas just outside of the centre. As always, if you find somewhere nice that you would lime to recommend, please send us email with details and we'll add the bar to this site.

Bars
Augustiner am Dom
Location: Frauenplatz 8, City Centre
Located right next to Munich's famous cathderal, the Frauenkirche, this is a bar to hang out in. Try and get a table upstairs - it's nice and cosy up there and if you manage to get a window table you'll have great views over the square.

Anna Bar
Location: Schützenstr. 1, City Centre
A very stylish restaurant and bar, that looks more expensive than it actually is. The lighting inside is a little odd... check it out to see what we mean!

Bar Muenchen
Location: Maximilianstrasse 36, City Centre
The bar opened in December 2003 and focuses on cocktails and good quality food. In terms of ambience, we're talking wood pannelling. Open daily.

Falks Bar
Location: Promenadeplatz 2-6, City Centre, in the Hotel Bayerischer Hof
The bar is located in the Hotel Bayerischer Hof (regarded by many as Munich's most exclusive hotel). It is a very beautiful bar with high ceilings and mirrored walls. The clientele tends to be very wealthy and a little older (it takes time to get that rich).

Havana Club Bar
Location: Herrnstr. 30, City Centre
This is a very relaxing bar, playing good music not too loud. Never too busy, but always a buzz. The cocktails are good here... go on try one.

L-Lounge 2
Location: Barerstrasse 5, City Centre
This bar is sponsored by o2 (the mobile communications company) and if you're familiar with o2 you' recognise the significance of the bubbles in the walls! This is quite a new bar having opened in late summer 2003. It's very cool with striking modern, minimalist design. There are a number fo TVs dotted around showing music videos.
